This document is a very brief description of the Printed Wiring Board (PWB) Product Model.
The product model can be conceptualized as an object-oriented database which contains all the knowledge about the product at any given point in the design analysis cycle.
Documentation consists of a constraint schematic which graphically depicts the few attributes of the PWB Product Model required by the Thermal Bending analysis, and a larger Express Schema which describes the PWB Product Model in much greater detail. The product model is intended to contain all the product information needed to support the different analyses which may be applied to it. Thus, the PWB_schema must define the entities that describe the PWB and its components (layers, vias, plated through holes, etc.), and the relations among these variables. It must also contain design-oriented attributes (coming from Mentor Graphics via STEP AP210, as well as other sources) and engineering idealization attributes (simplified or approximated information, derived from the design-oriented attributes, that is used in the analysis models).
